Veneers in Paisley
Veneers are available at our Paisley practices to clients who want to improve the shape, colour, and symmetry of their teeth. We provide two types of veneers: composite veneers and porcelain veneers. Continue reading to learn more about the benefits of each type.
Composite Veneers?
A composite veneer is a thin layer of dental composite resin (tooth-coloured filling material) custom-moulded over the surface of the teeth to improve the appearance of the smile.
The composite resin material is slowly built up on the teeth in a shade that matches the surrounding teeth before being hardened with a high-intensity light to securely fuse it, and then smoothed and polished to look bright, natural, and healthy.
Advantages of Composite Veneers
- Both our composite and porcelain veneers are carried out as a minimally -invasive procedure. Because there is little or no dental preparation required, you can improve your smile in a single visit to the dentist, and they will not need to drill down your healthy enamel or damage the tooth structure in any way.
- It is a less expensive option to porcelain veneers.
- There is no need for anaesthetic injections.
- Composites can make chipped teeth appear whole again.
- When orthodontic treatment is not an option, they can correct tiny gaps.
- They can make dark or discoloured teeth look better.
- If the composite stains or chips, repairs are simple.
- If you ever want the composite resin removed or changed, you can do it while your natural teeth remain intact.
How long are they going to last?
- The lifespan of composites is determined by a person’s oral hygiene and dietary patterns.
- Although composites may last for many years, they are not as strong as natural teeth and can chip or break, so they must be handled with care.
- Composites do require regular care because they discolour easily and must be polished. Visit your dentist and hygienist every six months to ensure that your smile is as clean and fresh as possible.
Cost of Composite Veneers
The cost of composite veneers is determined by the number of teeth to be treated as well as the treatment’s complexity. During your consultation, your dentist will discuss the cost.

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of coloured-like teeth porcelain that are glued to the front surfaces of natural teeth to change the colour and shape of the teeth.
They can be used to repair chipped, stained, crooked, damaged, or gapped teeth.
This service is provided by our dentists in our Paisley clinics.
Advantages of Porcelain Veneers
Closes gaps and straightens teeth
Because veneers are affixed to the front of your teeth, they may cover minor orthodontic abnormalities such as gaps and crooked teeth.
Your natural teeth will not move, but they will be concealed so that they appear straight to the outside!
However, veneers are not always a suitable solution for crooked teeth or gaps, so your dentist may recommend orthodontic treatment, such as Invisalign, to straighten your natural teeth instead.
Stain-resistant
If you’re thinking about getting this treatment and enjoying tea, coffee, or red wine, you should know that porcelain veneers are stain-resistant. You should still care for them as you would your natural teeth, but because porcelain veneers are non-porous, they are more resistant to discolouration than both natural teeth and composite veneers.
Maintain Oral Health Routine
You can clean and floss normally with veneers, just as you would with natural teeth.
Long-lasting
Porcelain veneers have a longer lifespan than composite veneers and can last between 10-15 years with adequate care. However, keep in mind that some of your natural tooth’s surface will need to be removed for the porcelain to be properly fitted. This is not the case with composite veneers.
Because your dentist will permanently alter the structure of your natural teeth to install the veneers, porcelain veneers are considered permanent.
Cost of Porcelain Veneers
The cost of porcelain veneers depends on the number of teeth to be treated as well as the complexities of the procedure. During your consultation, your dentist will discuss the price.
