Allan is our principal dentist. He qualified from Dundee Dental Hospital and School in 2000. He spent over 10 years working in an extremely busy NHS practice in Nitshill. During that time he completed his membership exams for The Royal College of Edinburgh Fellowship of Dental Surgeons (MFDS RCS Ed) in 2003. In 2004 he then started a part-time 3 year Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies (DPDS) at the University of Bristol.
Here he studied a year each of Prosthetics (dentures), Anxiety & Sedation and finally Periodontics (understanding and treating gum disease). He completed this in 2007. Still Continuing to work in NHS general practice in Nitshill he attended and completed the SFSW 2 year course in fixed and removal orthodontics (dental braces and the moving and straightening of teeth), finally completing this in 2008. In this time he also completed training in many modern orthodontic systems including 6 Month Smiles, Secret Smiles Lingual Braces, Inman Aligner and Fast Braces.
In 2009 he continued his dental education by completing the one year Scottish Dental Impant Course giving him the experience to plan, place and restore dental implants.
In 2010 he moved to a private practice in Hyndland in the West End of Glasgow. Here, along with general dentistry, he carried out orthodontics, implants and complex cosmetic dentistry. In 2024 he decided he would like to start a fresh challenge in his own practice and has decided to open Blessing Dental Care in Foxbar where he will offer NHS dentistry and where he can also offer private dental implants, orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Allan can also offer many of the latest digital techniques in full smile makeovers including cosmetic bonding and dental veneers.
